New Delhi: The price of a commercial LPG cylinder on July 1st was slashed by Rs 198 in the national capital. The price of LPG cylinders is revised first of every month based on the international fuel prices and the currency exchange rate.

In Kolkata, the rate of cooking gas cylinders was reduced by Rs 182 while in Mumbai, the price of LPG cylinders came down by Rs 190.50. The commercial cylinder in the national capital would now cost Rs 2021 from Rs 2219. However, no relief is announced for the 14 kg domestic cylinder.

The price revision comes a month after all marketing companies made new gas connections dearer by increasing security deposits. From June 16, the security deposit for a new 14.2-Kg gas cylinder was increased by 52% or Rs 750 to Rs 2200 per connection. Earlier the security deposit per connection was Rs 1450 per connection.
