New Delhi: India recorded 17,336 fresh infections in the past 24 hours. The recovery rate at 98.59 per cent accounted for 13,029 recuperations in the last 24 hours taking the total recoveries to 4,27,49,056. The daily positivity rate stood at 4.23 per cent.
The number of active cases stood at 88,284 accounting for 0.20 per cent of the total number of cases. An increase in active cases by 4,294 was recorded in the last 24 hours. However, the mortality rate stood at 1.21 per cent recorded 13 virus related fatalities taking the cumulative death toll to 5,24,954.
With the administration of 13.71 lakh vaccine doses in the last 24 hours, India’s COVID-19 vaccination coverage has exceeded 196.77 crore according to Ministry of Health and Family Welfare. So far, more than 3.61 Cr (3,61,10,152) adolescents have been administered with the first dose of COVID-19 vaccine under the 12+ vaccination program. Around, 2,31,52,623 adults above 60 years have been administered the precautionary dose.
