New Delhi: India recorded 12,781 fresh infections in the past 24 hours pushing the infection tally to 4,33,09,473. The recovery rate at 98.61 per cent accounted for 8,537 recuperations in the last 24 hours taking the total recoveries to4,27,07,900. The daily positivity rate stood at 4.32 per cent.

The number of active cases stood at 76,700 accounting for 0.18 per cent of the total number of cases. The active cases reported an increase of 4,226 in the last 24 hours. However, the mortality rate stood at 1.21 per cent accounted for 18 virus related fatalities taking the cumulative death toll to 5,24,873.

With the administration of 2.80 lakh vaccine doses in the last 24 hours, India’s COVID-19 vaccination coverage has exceeded 196.18 crore according to Ministry of Health and Family Welfare.

According to the health ministry, more than 193.53 crore (1,93,53,58,865) vaccine doses have been provided to States/UTs so far through Govt. of India (free of cost channel) and through direct state procurement category. More than 12.75 Cr (12,75,03,205) balance and unutilized COVID Vaccine doses are still available with the States/UTs to be administered.
