Chhattisgarh: With the state expecting an extreme cash crunch due to the COVID-19 crisis, most state government departments have been asked to cut their expenditure and now in Chhattisgarh, congress government has issued new guideline according to which all the departments under state government will be able to spend only 70 percent of the total budget.
The budget allocated to the departments for the financial year 2020-21 has been revised to the pre-determined limit of spending in four quarters of the year.
A circular regarding for same has been issued by the Additional Chief Secretary of the Finance Department to all the Additional Chief Secretaries, Principal Secretaries, Secretaries, Chairman Revenue Board Bilaspur and all the Heads of Departments.
According to the latest order issued by the Finance Department, the expenditure limit of all departments is now revised to 10 percent from 25 percent in the first quarter, in the second quarter, the spending limit is revised to 10 percent from 15 percent, the third quarter is revised from 25% to 20% and 30% is the new spending limit for the fourth quarter.
By the mutual consent of all departments heads and officers, they have decided the deadline of April 26 to provide the latest list of expenditure by uploading it on the e-Kosh server. But due to the lockdown, some departments have to face certain issues due to which uploading of recent data was not done in time, this why the deadline has been extended to May 30, 2020.
