New Delhi: India recorded 12,213 fresh infections in the past 24 hours. The recovery rate at 98.65 per cent accounted for 7,624 recuperations in the last 24 hours taking the total recoveries to 4,26,74,712. The daily positivity rate stood at 2.35 per cent.
The number of active cases stood at 58,215 accounting for 0.13 per cent of the total number of cases. The active cases reported a drop of 4,578 in the last 24 hours. However, the mortality rate stood at 1.21 per cent recorded 11 fatalities taking the cumulative death toll to 5,24,803.
The national capital on Wednesday recorded 1,375 new Covid cases on Wednesday while the positivity rate rose to 7.01 per cent, according to data shared by the health department. No deaths were reported due to the infection. This is the second consecutive day that Delhi has recorded over 1,100 cases in a day.
With the administration of 15.21 lakh vaccine doses in the last 24 hours, India’s COVID-19 vaccination coverage has exceeded 195.67 crore according to Ministry of Health and Family Welfare.
