New Delhi: India recorded 7,584 fresh infections in the past 24 hours. The recovery rate at 98.70 per cent accounted for 3,791 recuperations in the last 24 hours taking the total recoveries to 4,26,44,092. The daily positivity rate stood at 2.26 per cent.

The number of active cases stood at 36,267 accounting for 0.08 per cent of the total number of cases. The active cases reported an increase of 3,769 in the last 24 hours. However, the mortality rate stood at 1.21 per cent recorded 24 virus related deaths taking the cumulative death toll to 5,24,747.

Q With the administration of 15.31 lakh vaccine doses in the last 24 hours, India’s COVID-19 vaccination coverage has exceeded 194.76 crore according to Ministry of Health and Family Welfare.

According to the health ministry, more than 193.53 crore (1,93,53,58,865) vaccine doses have been provided to States/UTs so far through Govt. of India (free of cost channel) and through direct state procurement category. More than 13.93 Cr (13,93,88,755) balance and unutilized COVID Vaccine doses are still available with the States/UTs to be administered.

AThe Centre on Thursday asked all states and Union territories to ensure high level of testing in areas reporting new or cluster of COVID-19 cases while emphasising the need to follow the five-fold strategy of combating the disease i.e test-track-treat, vaccination and Covid appropriate behaviour.
