New Delhi: India recorded 2,745 fresh infections in the past 24 hours, taking the total tally of COVID-19 cases to 4,31,60,832. The recovery rate at 98.74 per cent accounted for 2,236 recuperations in the last 24 hours taking the total recoveries to 4,26,17,810.

The daily positivity rate stood at 0.60 per cent. The number of active cases stood at 18,386 accounting for 0.04 per cent of the total number of cases. The active cases reported a rise of 503 in the last 24 hours.

However, the mortality count climbed to 5,24,636 adding 6 deaths in the past 24 hours. The mortality rate stood constant at 1.22 per cent.

With the administration of 10.90 lakh vaccine doses in the last 24 hours, India’s COVID-19 vaccination coverage has exceeded 193.57 crore according to Ministry of Health and Family Welfare. COVID-19 vaccination for the age group 12-14 years was started on 16 March, 2022. So far, more than 3.40 Cr (3,40,10,748) adolescents have been administered with the first dose of COVID-19 vaccine. Over 1,90,31,989 beneficiaries above 60 years have been administered with the precautionary dose so far.
