New Delhi: India recorded 2,124 fresh infections in the past 24 hours, taking the total infection count to 4,31,42,192. The number of active cases stood at 14,971 accounting for 0.03 per cent of the total number of cases. The active cases added 130 fresh cases in the last 24 hours. The daily positivity rate stood at 0.46 per cent.
The recovery rate at 98.75 per cent accounted for 1,977recuperations in the last 24 hours taking the total recoveries to 4,26,02,714. However, the mortality rate stood at 1.22 per cent added 17 fatalities taking the cumulative death toll to 5,24,507.
With the administration of more than 13.27 lakh vaccine doses in the last 24 hours, India’s COVID-19 vaccination coverage has exceeded 192.67crores according to the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare.
COVID-19 vaccination for the age group 12-14 years was started on 16 March 2022. So far, more than 3.31 Cr (3,31,70,120) adolescents have been administered the first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine. Similarly, the COVID-19 precaution dose administration for the age group 18-59 years started from 10th April 2022 onwards. Around 6,58,407 have been jabbed with the precautionary dose under category 18-44 years. while 12,41,800 individuals under 45-59 years have been administered the precautionary dose.
