Bilaspur: Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel on Sunday said the government has taken another vital initiative with the bhoomi pujan of the Chhattisgarh State Cancer Institute at Bilaspur. It is part of the continuous efforts to expand health facilities in the state.
He was addressing the virtual bhoomi pujan of an ultramodern cancer institute to be built, an official communication said.
He said the institute will prove to be of utmost importance for the treatment of cancer patients within the state and neighbouring states. It will be equipped with ultramodern medical equipment and medical facilities to treat all kinds of cancer.
Its construction will be complete within the next one year. It will have a state-of-the-art cancer ward with 100 beds and an ICU ward with 20-bed capacity.
Health Minister T.S. Singh Deo said the Chief Minister has approved Rs 34.19 crore for the institute to commence the construction. The total project cost is Rs 120 crores. All types of facilities will be available free of cost.
