New Delhi: Amidst the loudspeaker row in Maharashtra, the National capital has been put on alert after an international Hindu Organisation by the name United Hindu Front (UHF) announced to recite Hanuman Chalisa on the premises of the Qutub Minar on Tuesday along with other Hindu groups. Heavy security has been deployed outside the world heritage site.
The working president of UHF, Jai Bhagwan Goel said that he intends to proceed peacefully with their plan to demand that the mosque inside the Qutub Minar be declared a temple and permission to chant Hanuman Chalisa at the premises be granted. Notably, the right-wing groups said that the idols of Lord Ganesh inside the mosque are hurting the sentiment of the community. The groups demanded the removal of the idols from the structure and advocated their establishment at a place where they can be worshipped.
It also expressed dissent over the two inverted idols of Lord Ganesha in the structure of the Quwwat-ul-Islam mosque in the Qutub Minar complex as their placement allegedly hurt religious sentiments.
The foundation of the acclaimed heritage site was laid by Qutab-ud-din Aibak, the first Muslim ruler of Delhi. His successor, Iltutmush, added three more storeys, and in 1368, Firoz Shah Tughlak constructed the fifth and the last storey.
