New Delhi: India recorded 3,451 fresh infections in the past 24 hours. The recovery rate at 98.74 per cent accounted for 3,079 recuperations in the last 24 hours taking the total recoveries to 4,25,57,495. The daily positivity rate stood at 0.96 per cent.
The number of active cases stood at 20,635 accounting for 0.05 per cent of the total number of cases. The active cases reported a rise of 322 in the last 24 hours. However, the mortality rate stood at 1.22 per cent recorded 40 fatalities- 35 of them from Kerala alone -taking the cumulative death toll to 5,24,064.
The national capital recorded 1,407 new Covid cases and two more fatalities, in the past 24 hours, while the positivity rate dropped to 4.72 percent. With the new cases, Delhi’s overall COVID-19 infection tally rose to 18,92,832, while the death toll stands at 26,179, the data showed.
With the administration of 17.39 lakh vaccine doses in the last 24 hours, India’s COVID-19 vaccination coverage has exceeded 190.20 crore according to Ministry of Health and Family Welfare.
