Chhattisgarh: The Chhattisgarh government has launched a web portal for home delivery of liquor in green zones of the state to avoid crowding at wine shops during the coronavirus-enforced lockdown. The portal has been named after the state-run CSMCL (Chhattisgarh State Marketing Corporation Limited), which controls the sale of liquor in the state.
Although the home delivery option is only available for those districts who come under the green zone. The home delivery facility will not be available in Raipur, Korba, surajpur, kabirdham and Durg districts which are not classified as green zones by state government. However, the central government has only marked Raipur as a red zone and Korba under an orange zone. But due to newly identified corona positive cases from durg, kawardha and surajpur, state govt. has imposed a ban on selling liquor online in these districts also.
The liquor shops, which were closed since March 23, opened from Monday across the state, except in the COVID-19 containment zones and shopping malls, following the Centre’s decision to ease some curbs during the lockdown. People can book orders directly through the CSMCL website or its mobile app available on the Play Store. A customer can place an online order for up to 5000ml liquor at a time. He/she will have to pay the delivery charges of Rs 120.
