Bhopal: A drunken man was allegedly murdered by a tea stall owner and his son for picking up a samosa without asking in Shankar Nagar in the capital’s Chhola area on Sunday afternoon. The accused told police that the deceased was misbehaving with them and hurling abuses when they raised an objection to him picking up a samosa without permission from the tray – and in defence, they attacked him with a stick and a tea pan.
SHO Chola Anil Singh Maura said the deceased Vinod Ahirwar a resident of Shankar Nagar was a mason. The accused Hari Singh Ahirwar resides in his neighbourhood and runs a tea shop along with his son 20-year-old Sitaram in the area. The deceased’s mother Ramvati told police in her complaint that on Sunday afternoon around 4 pm, Vinod was returning home and was drunk at the time. He stopped at Hari Singh’s stall and picked up a samosa to eat without informing anyone.
When Hari Singh objected, Vinod started misbehaving with them. Hari Singh was making tea at the moment and he threw the pan at him while Sitaram attacked him with a stick. SHO Maurya said that the father-son duo hit Vinod on his head and he collapsed. Blood started oozing out of his nose. Vinod was taken to a hospital where he was declared brought dead. The accused had fled away from the spot after the incident and were arrested in the early hours of Monday evening. SHO Maurya said that the deceased and the accused resided in the neighbourhood and had no rivalry.
