New Delhi: India recorded 1,247 fresh infections in the past 24 hour, taking the total to 4,30,45,527. The recovery rate at 98.76 per cent accounted for 928 recuperations in the last 24 hours taking the total recoveries to 4,25,11,701. The daily positivity rate stood at 0.31 per cent.

The number of active cases stood at 11,860 accounting for 0.03 per cent of the total number of cases. The active cases reported a rise of 318 in the last 24 hours. However, the mortality rate stood at 1.21 per cent recorded only 1 virus related death taking the cumulative death toll to 5,21,966.

The Centre noted that Kerala reported its state-level Covid data after a gap of five days on Monday, which impacted the country’s key pandemic monitoring indicators such as cases, deaths and positivity rate.

COVID-19 positivity rate in the national capital on Monday jumped to 7.72 per cent even as the city recorded 501 fresh cases, 16 less than the previous day, according to health department data. With the new cases, the city’s infection tally has risen to 18,69,051 while the death toll stood at 26,160 as no new fatality was reported. Citing the rise, the Haryana Govt and the UP Govt mandated the use of mask in public places.

With the administration of 16.89 lakh vaccine doses in the last 24 hours, India’s COVID-19 vaccination coverage has exceeded 186.72 crore according to Ministry of Health and Family Welfare.
