New Delhi: India recorded 1,007 fresh infections in the past 24 hours. The recovery rate at 98.76 per cent accounted for 818 recuperations in the last 24 hours taking the total recoveries to 44,25,06,228. The daily positivity rate stood at 0.23 per cent.
The number of active cases stood at 11,058 accounting for 0.03 per cent of the total number of cases. The active cases reported a rise of 188 in the last 24 hours. However, the mortality rate stood at 1.21 per cent recorded 1virus relate death taking the cumulative death toll to 5,21,737.
With the administration of 14.48 lakh vaccine doses in the last 24 hours, India’s COVID-19 vaccination coverage has exceeded 186.22 crore according to Ministry of Health and Family Welfare. COVID-19 vaccination for the age group 12-14 years was started on 16 March, 2022. So far, more than 2.36 Cr (2,36,92,551) adolescents have been administered with the first dose of COVID-19 vaccine. Similarly, the COVID-19 precaution dose administration for age group 18-59 years also started from 10th April, 2022 onwards. 62,683 precaution doses have been administered so far.
