New Delhi: India recorded 913 fresh infections in the past 24 hours, taking the total to 4,30,27,784. India’s daily Covid-19 cases drop below 1000 after 715 days. The recovery rate at 98.76 per cent accounted for 1,316 recuperations in the last 24 hours taking the total recoveries to 4,24,95,089. The daily positivity rate stood at 0.29 per cent.
The number of active cases stood at 12,597 accounting for 0.03 per cent of the total number of cases. The active cases reported a drop of 416 in the last 24 hours. However, the mortality rate recorded at 1.21 per cent reported a spike in deaths recording 13 fatalities, taking the cumulative death toll to 5,21,358.
As per the statistics reported to the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, more than 184.70 crore COVID-19 vaccine doses have been administered in the country including 2.84 lakh doses given in the last 24 hours.
Meanwhile, Covovax, the Covid-19 vaccine manufactured by the Serum Institute of India (SII), was reportedly recommended by the National Technical Advisory Group on Immunization (NTAGI) for vaccination of those aged 12 years and above, the official sources said on Sunday (April 3, 2022). Covovax was approved by India’s drug regulator for restricted use in emergency situations in adults on December 28 and in the 12-17 age group, subject to certain conditions, on March 9.
