Southern Film RRR beat SLBs biological flick- Gangubai and Social movie- The Kashmir Files at the box office. Rajamouli directorial RRR joined the 100 crore club on March 30th, becoming the fastest entrant into the elite club. The period drama crossed the benchmark in just five days of its release.
After Bahubali and its sequence, and Pushpa: the Rise, RRR has become the fifth regional movie to rule the box office in the Hindi belt.
RRR is a fictional story based on the lives of two Telugu freedom fighters, Alluri Seetharma Raju and Komaram Bheem played by Jr NTR and Charan. Apart from big shots from the Telugu cinema, renowned names from the Bollywood industry including Ajay Devgn, Alia Bhatt, Samuthirakani, Ray Steveson were also seen in the movie.
John Abraham, Jacqueline Fernandez and Rakul Preet Singh starrer Attack is in the pipeline. Analysts wait to see if the sci-fi actioner affects RRR or not.
