Raipur: Despite the shortage in supply of some premium imported liquor brands, liquor sales during Holi pitched a 15 per cent surge compared to the corresponding period in 2021. Sales figures in Chhattisgarh’s Raipur, breached its own decade long record this year. The Excise dept recorded a sale of Rs 18 crore in 3 days.

Holi was celebrated with traditional pomp and fervour in Chhattisgarh’s capital Raipur on 18th March amid a steady drop in COVID-19 cases that allowed most pandemic curbs to be withdrawn. People thronged squares and junctions in several parts of the city and played with colour amid dance and song. Reports of celebrations also came from Bilaspur and other areas of the state.
