New Delhi: India recorded 1,938 fresh infections in the past 24 hours, taking the total tally to 4,30,14,687, The recovery rate at 98.75 per cent accounted for 2,531 recuperations in the last 24 hours taking the total recoveries to 4,24,75,588. The daily positivity rate stood at 0.29 per cent.
The number of active cases stood at 22,427 accounting for 0.05 per cent of the total number of cases. The active cases reported a drop of 660 in the last 24 hours. However, the mortality rate stood at 1.20 per cent recorded 67 fatalities taking the cumulative death toll to 5,16,672.
With the administration of 31.81 lakh vaccine doses in the last 24 hours, India’s COVID-19 vaccination coverage has exceeded 182.23 crore according to Ministry of Health and Family Welfare. According to the ministry, more than 2.21 crore (2,21,21,816) precaution doses for the identified categories of beneficiaries (HCWs, FLWs and people over 60 years) for Covid-19 have been administered so far.
Cumulatively, 55,40,22,688 first doses of COVID-19 vaccine have been administered to individuals in the 18-44 age group across states and Union Territories and 46,14,52,941 second doses have been given in the same age group since the start of phase 3 of the vaccination drive, according to ministry data.
