New Delhi: India recorded 2,528 fresh infections in the pastrecoveries to 4,24,58,543. The daily positivity rate stood at 0.40 per cent.

The number of active cases stood at 29,181 accounting for 0.07 per cent of the total number of cases. The active cases reported a drop of 1,618 in the last 24 hours. However, the mortality rate stood at 1.20 per cent recorded 149 fatalities taking the cumulative death toll to 5,16,281.

With the administration of 15.77 lakh vaccine doses in the last 24 hours, India’s COVID-19 vaccination coverage has exceeded 180.97 crore according to Ministry of Health and Family Welfare.

According to the ministry, more than 2.16 crore (2,16,31,196) precaution doses for the identified categories of beneficiaries (HCWs, FLWs and people over 60 years) for Covid-19 have been administered so far. Cumulatively, 55,36,93,457 first doses of COVID-19 vaccine have been administered to individuals in the 18-44 age group across states and Union Territories and 45,87,11,316 second doses have been given in the same age group since the start of phase 3 of the vaccination drive, according to ministry data.
