DELHI: In the last 24 hours India has recorded 1,543 positive cases and 62 deaths, taking the total tally to 29,974, including 7027 cured/discharged patients. As many as 937 people have died because of the virus while one patient was migrated. Total active cases are 22,010 with a recovery rate of 23.3%. This is the sharpest ever increase in death toll in a single day, stated joint secretary Luv Agarwal today, in daily health briefing.
In the context of plasma therapy, Luv Agarwal said that the plasma therapy being employed in hospitals across the country to treat the symptoms of coronavirus might be producing encouraging results, but it is still in experimental stage and hasn’t been approved by Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR).
He further added until ICMR concludes its study & a robust scientific proof is available, Plasma therapy should be used only for research or trial purpose. If plasma therapy is not used in a proper manner under proper guidelines then it can also cause life-threatening complications. This warning has been issued by the union health ministry. He also warned that Plasma therapy isn’t a proven therapy.
Punya salila Srivastava, joint secretary (MHA) in the press briefing, said that Inter-Ministerial Central Team(IMCT) is conducting extensive testing in surat. so that, we could find COVID_19 positive cases in the initial stages itself. She also added that IMCT is also in touch with various stakeholders including textile and diamond industries, who are major employers of laborers. Most labors have received the payment for last month.
