Koni, Bilaspur: CIMS Super Speciality hospital is almost ready for operation, said officials on Friday. The 12-storey hospital being built in Koni, Bilaspur is expected to provide the best quality service at an affordable cost.

Built on 50 acres of land, the hospital will also have the state’s first cancer treatment and research centre, where all treatments can be availed at an affordable cost. It is speculated that the hospital would function within three months.  The officials are under pressure as state health minister TS Singh Deo has also instructed quick functioning of the premises. In the first phase of operation, 100 ICUs and 244 beds with highly equipped infrastructure would function.

 Chhattisgarh Institute of Medical Sciences (CIMS), Bilaspur was established in 2001. The aim behind the establishment of CIMS Bilaspur was to develop an innovative, dynamic and independent medical institute, dedicated to providing excellent medical education and best health care, particularly to the tribal, backward and rural community of Chhattisgarh. It currently has a 550 bed, dietary hospital in Sardar Bazar Road, Bilaspur under the name Sardar Vallabh Bhai Patel Hospital. All basic and advanced investigations are done in the hospital. It has a central laboratory with three components (Biochemistry, Pathology & Microbiology).
