Gujarat: In an appalling incident reported from Gujarat’s Vadodara, a husband allegedly thrashed his 24-year-old wife brutally for defeating him in an online ludo game repeatedly. As per the reports the woman has suffered a serious spinal cord injury and is currently under treatment.
Reports suggest that amid the lockdown the woman wanted to make sure that her husband stayed home rather than spending time outdoors. She suggested him to play online ludo with her to keep him entertained to which he agreed. However, the game turned violent when her husband brutally assaulted her as she defeated him consecutively for 3-4 rounds in the game.
In the fit of rage, the man thrashed his wife in such a beastly manner that he broke his wife’s spinal cord causing a gap between two of her vertebrae. After the heinous act, the woman was immediately rushed to the orthopedic surgeon.
The case has also reached the “181 Abhayam Helpline” while the woman decided to go to her parents’ home instead of returning to her husband. However, before going to her parents’ house she wanted to go to her home to collect some documents.
The counsellor of Abhayam gave the woman two choices whether to file an FIR against her husband or to settle the issue. She chose to settle the issue as her husband had apologized to her after the incident. The counselor added, “His ego was hurt thinking that his wife outsmarted him and was more intelligent as she also contributed to the family income.”
The couple was then counselled to live together and was apprised of the marital discord. The woman will return to her husband’s home after spending a few days with her parents.
