Bhopal: The registration for wheat procurement at MSP – which was extended for 5 days will end today, according to govt officials. Until 5th March nearly 17 lakh farmers had registered for selling wheat at MSP. The support price of one quintal of wheat has been fixed at Rs 1937 by the state government.
Farmers today can register by visiting the nearest registration centre being run at Gram Panchayat, Janpad Panchayat and Tehsil. Apart from this, farmers will also be able to register at Public Service Center and Cyber Cafe. At the same time, for mobile registration, one can visit the website www.mpeuparjan.nic.in. They can also register at the Kiosk and Public Service Centre with a fee of Rs 50.
Farmers could select their choice of date and time to sell their produce. To avoid scams during the procurement the state govt has incorporated the use of filters and thumb impressions to identify the farmers. A system has also been created where Aadhar is being linked to the system, which would ensure error-free payments.
So far in Bhopal, 38,726 farmers have registered. The maximum number of registrations is seen in Ujjain. Nearly 2 lakh farmers are expected to sell their produce for Kharif Season.
