New Delhi: Air India flight that departed from the Mumbai airport 3:40 am to Bucharest under the Vande Bharat Mission to evacuate stranded Indians would return at 6:30 pm, senior govt officials said. The flight AI1943 laned at around 10 am (IST), the official added.

Indian nationals who have reached the Ukraine-Romania border by road are being taken to Bucharest by Indian government officials so that they can be evacuated in the Air India flight, they noted.

Another two flights were operated from New Delhi which departed for Bucharest at 7: 30 am and Budapest at 9 am IST on Saturday. The officials’ flights Boeing 787 aircraft being operated under Vande Bharat are expected to ferry around 256 stranded Indian’s home.

Meanwhile, the Indian embassy on Saturday morning advised nationals not to move to ant border posts without prior coordination with the GoI officials.

“All Indian citizens in Ukraine are advised to not move to any of the border posts without prior coordination with Government of India officials at the border posts (helpline numbers established) and the Emergency numbers of the Embassy of India, Kyiv,” – the Indian embassy’s latest statement read
