Rohit Sharma led India has suffered a couple of blows ahead of its three-match T20I series against Sri Lanka. Fast bowler Chahar and batsman Suryakumar Yadav have been ruled out of the upcoming series that starts in Lucknow on Thursday a BCCI source confirmed. “They will now head to the National Cricket Academy in Bengaluru for further management of their injuries,” stated an official release.

Yadav is the second player to be stripped out after he suffered a hairline fracture during a fielding attempt in the third and final T20I against WI on Sunday. Chahar was ruled out of the games in Lucknow and Dharamsala after picking up a hamstring injury.

So far no replacement s for the two injured players as options are available with the team. However, the likes of Virat Kohli, Rishabh Pant and Shardul Thakur who have been rested for the upcoming series would sprout a chance for Ruturaj Gaikwad and Shreyas Iyer to prove their mettle.

India and SI would lock horns on Thursday in Lucknow for the three-match T20Is at first followed by two Tests.
