Madhya Pradesh: In a daily press briefing, Home Minister Narottam Mishra today delineated the state’s outlook on the repatriation of Madhya Pradesh students stuck in Ukraine. “ The govt is taking all necessary steps to bring back the students of MP living in Ukraine. The Chief Minister himself is monitoring this matter. The central govt has also issued an advisory, he said.”
Responding to a query posed by the reporters, the families of nearly 25 students pursuing MBBS in Ukraine were comforted about the safety of their children.
As per information from an insider, nearly 100 students from the state have been studying in Ukraine. Out of these 25 are reported to hail from Indore. As tensions on the borders of the ex-Soviet Union boiled, families of the students have urged the Centre to help them bring home safely at the earliest. Indore’s Lok Sabha MP Shankar Lalwani informed to have been contacted by at least 25 families who urged help to bring back their children safely from Ukraine.
Notably, the MEA, a week ago had advised its citizens in Ukraine to temporarily leave that country amid escalating tension between Russia and NATO countries over the eastern European nation. In an advisory, the Indian embassy in Kyiv asked Indian nationals to avoid all non-essential travel to and within Ukraine. As complaints of limited flight plying were sent from students, India eased the Air-Bubble Norms and increased the flights operating between the two nations and promised to airlift all its citizens.
