Katni: Nine laborers were trapped inside the under-construction tunnel of Bargi canal that collapsed in Slimnabad of Katni in Madhya Pradesh. Out of the 9 trapped, 7 have been rescued and the SDRF team along with other officials are still trying to rescue the remaining 2 trapped.
The accident took place on late Saturday evening in the underground tunnel that is being built from Bargi dam on Narmada river to Bansagar. After the incident was reported, the SDRF team arrived to begin rescue work at night. The laborers were buried about 9 meters below from where their voices can be clearly heard by the rescue team.
While Katni Collector Priyank Mishra and SP are present on the spot, ACS Rajesh Rajoura of the Home Department is monitoring the rescue operation from the Situation Room in Vallabh Bhawan.
