The Hijab stir has trespassed every boundary now. From being political trivia now, the controversy has debuted in the Bollywood industry. Former Rajya Sabha member and veteran actress Shabana Azmi took to her official Twitter handle calling out Kangana Ranaut on her comments on the Hijab row.

Shabana Azmi shared a screengrab of the ‘Queen’ actress’ feed  wrote- “Correct me if I’m wrong but Afghanistan is a theocratic state and when I last checked India was a secular democratic republic ?!!” Reacting to the Instagram post, early on Friday the senior actress brought down Kangana Ranaut.

On Thursday, Kangana Ranaut’s Instagram handle featured her views on the ongoing Hijab controversy. One post was of a collaged image of a group of women in bikini and burqa dating back to 1973. The post was captioned – “Iran. 1973 and now. From bikini to burqa in fifty years flat. Those who do not learn from history are doomed to repeat it.”

“Learn to break free, not cage yourself,”- read another story of hers.

Earlier on Wednesday, famous lyricist Javed Akthar also took to his Twitter handle condemning the Hijab controversy in the nation. He wrote, “I have never been in favour of Hijab or Burqa. I still stand by that, but at the same time, I have nothing but deep contempt for these mobs of hooligans who are trying to intimidate a small group of girls and that too unsuccessfully. Is this their idea of ‘MANLINESS’. What a pity.”
