Ahead of the Mega Auction, Lucknow Super Giants, led by KL Rahul on Monday unveiled its logo on Twitter. Sharing a video showcasing various logos, the new entrant of IPL revealed its logo.

Captioning the video “Soaring towards greatness. Lucknow Super Giants is all set to stretch its wings. Prepare for greatness!”. The wings represent the Indian flag with a bat and ball in the centre. The IPL franchise had got its name after it had held an open contest where fans could suggest names for the new team.

“Thank you so much for your overwhelming response to the ‘Naam banao naam kamao‘ contest. Lakhs and lakhs of people responded, based on that we are very happy to choose the name for the Lucknow IPL team,” said Sanjeev Goenka owner of the franchise.

The RPSG group had taken charge of the franchise for an amount of Rs 7090 Crores and handed the lead to KL Rahul for Rs 17 crore and named him the skipper. Australia all-rounder Marcus Stoinis was also roped in for Rs 9.2 crore alongside uncapped leg spinner Ravi Bishnoi for Rs 4 crore. Andy Flower would coach the team, while Gautam Gambir would mentor the boys.
