New Delhi: India recorded 2,86,384 fresh infections in the past 24 hours The recovery rate at 93.33 per cent accounted 3,06,357 recuperations in the last 24 hours taking the total recoveries to 3,76,77,328. The daily positivity rate stood at 19.59 per cent.
The number of active cases stood at 22,02,472 accounting for 5.46 per cent of the total number of cases.The active cases reported a drop by 20,546 in the last 24 hours. However, the mortality rate stood at 1.22 per cent reported spike in deaths recording 573 fatalities, taking the cumulative death toll to 4,91,700.
Worst hit state Maharashtra on Wednesday recorded 35,756 new coronavirus cases, up from 33,914 logged a day ago, while deaths linked to the infection remained high at 79, the state health department said. No new case of the Omicron variant of the novel coronavirus was reported in the state, the department said in a bulletin. Meanwhile, the national capital logged 7,498 fresh Covid cases in the past 24 hours, a jump of over 24 per cent over yesterday’s cases and 29 Covid deaths. The positivity rate was at 10.59 per cent.
The health bulletin documented 163.84 crore cumulative vaccinations under the nationwide vaccination drive, including 22.35 lakh administrations in the past 24 hours.
