Uttarakhand: Chhattisgarh chief minister and Congress leader Bhupesh Baghel visited Uttarakhand on Monday to attend a press conference at Madhuvan Hotel, Dehradun. Along with Baghel, Chief observor of Uttarakhand Congress Mohan Prakash INC, state party president UK Ganesh Godiyal, Former Chief Minister and Election Campaign Committee Chairman Harish Rawat, Leader of Opposition Pritam Singh, Dr. Harak Singh Rawat and others were among few senior leaders at the event.

The press conference saw the release of the Congress’ campaign theme and a campaign song titled ‘Uttarakhand Swabhiman Char Dham Char Kaam’. CM Baghel also launched a social media whats app program for the state Congress Unit. Through the song, the party releasing its manifesto promised door to door health facilities, and employment program that would benefit 4 lakh youngsters of the state. Baghel who launched the song undescored that the states unemployment rate is higher than the national unemployment index. On behalf of the party, he also promised to provide a financial assistance of Rs 40,000 to nearly 5 Lakh families in the backward society. Lastly the song asserted that the LPG cylinder cost would be capped at Rs 500 and steps to bar the cost would be taken.

Taking to his Twitter handle, CM Baghel slammed opposition calling them deceitful. BJP is going, Congress is coming read the post.This vist by the CM comes two days after the Congress released its first list of 53 candidates for the assembly elections, which will begin from next month.

Elections to 70 assembly constituencies in Uttrakhand will be held in a single phase on February 14. The counting of votes and declaration of results will happen on March 10.
