Madhya Pradesh: Amidst the spiking rise, CM Shivraj Singh Chauhan announced fresh guidelines to curb the spread of coronavirus. In an official address, reviewing the current situation with the crisis management team, the Madhya Pradesh govt imposed a slew of guidelines pertaining to which all educational institutions private and government will have to halt operations until January 31st.

Meanwhile, as the pre-board exams are underway, the MPBSE has decided to conduct the exams as per the new pattern proposed under the New Education Policy 2020. According to the new policy pre-board exams of Class 10 and 12 scheduled to commence from January 20th would be held in Take Home exam format. In this pattern, the paper would comprise of 40 per cent of objective questions and 40 per cent subjective and the remaining 20 per cent of the questions would be analytics type.

Apart from these restrictions, all religious and political processions, social gatherings and fairs were banned. However, no ban on ‘snan’ during Makar Sankranti was levied.  Furthermore, all religious places were permitted to function, monitoring the behaviour of devotees. Permission to hold events with 50 per cent gathering of the hall is permitted. Sports and entertainment events were permitted to be organized with no spectators at 50 per cent attendance.

In the past 24 hours, MP had recorded 4,031 fresh infections, which took the tally to 8.14 lakhs. A gradual rise in the states daily positivity rate was observed as the percentage rose to 5.1.
