Indore: On Thursday, 584 new covid patients were found in Indore. Out of which, 9 patients have been found infected with the Omicron variant. In this sense, even now the old form of Corona i.e. Delta variant is making people sick. According to the Health Department, 8732 samples were tested in 24 hours. According to the proportion of test and positive patients, more than 6 per cent of the total samples are turning out to be positive. This is the second consecutive day when more than 500 corona patients have been found in the city in a single day.
On Wednesday also 513 patients were found in Indore. However, it is a matter of relief that no person died in the city from Corona on Thursday. 138 patients were also discharged from the hospital after recovery. A total of 1716 corona patients are now undergoing treatment in the district. If Thursday’s figures are taken together, since the beginning of the epidemic, 1 lakh 55 thousand 533 corona patients have been registered in the government records in Indore.
According to the Health Department, there have been 1397 corona deaths in Indore since the first wave. In view of the increasing case of Corona, the state government has implemented the Essential Services Maintenance and Disability Prevention Act (ESMA) on Thursday. It has come into effect with the publication of the notification in the Official Gazette on January 5. Home Minister Dr. Narottam Mishra said an open jail is being considered for those who do not wear masks.
