Bilaspur: Amidst the sudden spurt in Covid-19 cases, CM Baghel said on Monday that the government is keeping a close watch on the situation and all districts have been advised to be on alert and gear up to face challenges. 5 officers of Chief Medical and Health Officer Office of Mungeli district Bilaspur have been found to be corona positive. All have been sent to home isolation.
The high-level meeting took place a day after state health minister TS Singhdeo tested positive for Covid and Raipur alone reported a total number of 301 active cases. Besides, there are also reports about school children testing positive in a couple of districts after schools started functioning on November 22nd. After reports started coming in, many parents are reluctant to send their kids to schools and they are insisting on the continuance of online classes.
In the Kanker district, 5 SSB jawans have been found corona infected. All these jawans are posted in the SSB camp located in the Naxal-affected area Kanhargaon. Infected jawans have been isolated in the barracks itself. The team of the Health Department is busy investigating the other soldiers of the camp. It is being told that all the soldiers found infected had recently returned to the camp from leave. Along with this, the Sarpanch-Secretary of the Panchayat has also been told that if any person from the village goes out or the outsider comes to the village, then a register of their names should be made. Commuters should be quarantined for 14 days.
