New Delhi: The president of the Congress’ Central Election Authority, Madhusudan Mistry said today that the election process for the post of Congress President shall be completed by September 2022. At present, the part is headed by interim president Sonia Gandhi, who took over after her son and Congress MP Rahul Gandhi resigned.

The party has been facing continuous rifts in multiple states as many senior party leaders have openly called for sweeping changes and restructuring the party. Meanwhile, Priyanka Gandhi has attacked Yogi Adityanath government over thrashing the Dalit girl in Amethi. She confirmed that Congress will launch an agitation if the accused is not arrested.

“If the criminals who committed this inhuman act are not caught within 24 hours, then the Congress will work to wake you up by vigorous agitation”, tweeted Congress General Secretary, Priyanka Gandhi.

Her remarks come shortly after a video went viral on social media showing the 16-year old Dalit girl being beaten up and molested.
