Delhi: Police on Friday arrested 5 accused who were blackmailing Union Minister of State for Home Ajay Mishra Teni. However, the police have not yet given information about what this blackmailing was going on and for how long. The police are interrogating the accused by taking them into custody. The opposition has been pressurizing Union Minister Teni to resign for a long time due to his son Ajay Mishra, accused in the Lakhimpur violence case.

Recently he also came into the limelight for using abusive language and behaviour with journalists. Recently, in public interest litigation, an appeal to the Union Minister to be made an accused in the Lakhimpur violence case, former BSF jawan Tej Bahadur Yadav has appealed to investigate the involvement of Union Minister Ajay Mishra ‘Teni’ and Uttar Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya in the Lakhimpur violence case. Public interest litigation has been filed in the Supreme Court for a petition that has sought a direction to the SIT set up by the Supreme Court to make Union Minister Mishra and UP Deputy Chief Minister Maurya accused.

On October 3rd, 4 farmers were killed after being run over by an SUV when several farmers were protesting against the visit of Uttar Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya to Lakhimpur Kheri district. The SUV was reportedly part of the convoy of Union Minister of State for Home Ajay Kumar Mishra. The Special Investigation Team (SIT) of Uttar Pradesh Police probing the incident of recent Lakhimpur Kheri violence had told the Lakhimpur local court that there was a conspiracy to kill the people present during the incident. Apart from this, the SIT has prayed before the court to modify the charges against the other accused, including Ashish Mishra, son of the Union Minister of State.
