Chhattisgarh: An assistant constable of the District Reserve Guard (DRG) sustained minor injuries on Tuesday when the Maoists detonated an improvised explosive device (IED) in Chhattisgarh’s Dantewada district. The incident is reported from Bodli camp area when the Jawan’s moved towards Kariametta for operations at 8 am. At a distance of 650 metres from camp, the IED blasted, Dantewada SP Abhishek Pallav informed.

Reportedly, a team of personnel belonging to the DRG, the Special Task Force (STF) and the Chhattisgarh Armed Force (CAF) had launched the operation on a hypersensitive patch from Bodli towards Kariametta village. Two hours later another blast was attempted in the same area, however, the security forces dodged the command pipe IED.

Initiating search, officials discovered four live IEDs that were later diffused by the state bomb squad. The injured cop has been transported to a medical facility and is under treatment sources reported.
