Corona Bulletin: Out of total 14378 cases, 4291 (29.8%) cases are related to Nizamuddin Markaz cluster- Mohfw said.

Delhi: Health ministry, during the routine media briefing on coronavirus, Joint secretary, Luv Agarwal said mortality rate in India due to COVID-19 is 3.3% which is very less in comparison to other developed countries.He also provides an age-wise analysis of Mortality rate, 14.4% of death has been reported in the age group of 0-45 years. Between 45-60 years it is 10.3%, between 60-75 years it is 33.1% & for 75 years and above it is 42.2%.

He added the statement that ‘ 80 per cent of the patients in India are recovering and only 20 per cent cases deaths are being reported, by that standard, India has been doing a little better than many other nations on the outcome ratio.

He also informed reporters that 1,919 dedicated COVID-19 hospitals with 1.73 lakh isolation beds and 21,800 ICU beds have been readied till now.

Lav Agarwal further added, “Out of total 14378 cases, 4291 (29.8%) cases are related to Nizamuddin Markaz cluster from a single source and affected 23 States & UTs.Giving out details of cases in the last 24 hours, he said, 43 deaths have been reported due to COVID-19 from across the country, taking the total death toll to 480 as of April 18. 

He said with reports of 991 new positive cases in the last 24 hours, the total countrywide figure of those affected by the disease has touched 14,378.  
So far 1,992 persons have been cured of COVID-19, which suggested that “the overall cure percentage is 13.85%”.
