WORLD: Erupted late last year in China, the Covid-19 coronavirus has spread around the world, and been declared a pandemic by the World Health Organization. However, differences in testing mean that the number of cases may be understated for some countries.

Since 31 December 2019 and as of 18 April 2020,  cases of COVID-19 (in accordance with the applied case definitions and testing strategies in the affected countries) 2,263,064 confirmed cases and 154,828 deaths have been reported globally.

America still remains the worst hit country in the world with around 7,10,000 infected cases and over 37000 deaths have been registered. At number 2, Spain stands with 1,91,000 infected cases and 20,000 death toll meanwhile Italy is at third position to be vastly affected by this pandemic with 1,72,434 positive cases and 22,745 deaths.
