Varanasi: PM Modi landed in his constituency, Varanasi as per his schedule to inaugurate the first phase of the Kashi Vishwanath Corridor Project. The project is expected to connect two iconic landmarks of Kashi Vishwanath and Ganga Ghats.

PM Modi was welcomed by State CM and other officials from the cabinet, following which he offered prayers at the Kaal Bhairav Temple. As per his travel itinerary, he will offer prayers at the Kashi Vishwanath Temple at 1 pm and inaugurate the project. Around 3,000 seers, figurines associated with different religious maths, artists and others would attend the inauguration. The grand ceremony is reportedly going to be captured by means of 55 HD cameras, a huge drone and four jimmy jibs, sources reported.

Spread over nearly five lakh square feet, the first phase of the project is planned to host 23 buildings. The state authorities have reportedly acquired nearly 300 properties in the vicinity of the temple to establish the corridor. Nearly 1,400 shopkeepers, tenants and homeowners have been rehabilitated in the process. Moreover, the govt authorities have rediscovered several buried temples during the preparatory stage of the project.
