Indore: 2 persons were killed and 8 others suffered serious injuries after a bus hit the railing on a bridge near the Janapav Kuti area of Manpur and overturned on Thursday morning. The private bus was on its way from Nashik to Indore when the accident took place. “The driver and conductor were killed in the accident. 8 people were seriously injured and 11 were discharged after primary treatment,” said Vijay Singh Sisodiya, Manpur police station in charge.

Sisodiya said that the incident was reported around 5.30 AM. The passengers claimed that the driver was speeding the vehicle and lost control while trying to avoid hitting a truck parked by the roadside after which it hit the railing of the bridge and overturned. The injured were rushed to Manpur community health centre and from here they were referred to Indore for further treatment.

Dheeraj Makhana, Shahnawaz Ahmed, Santosh, Kalpana, Monika Kamankar, OP Yadav, Santaram Wagul, Sangeeta Bagul and Sanju Alodiya was seriously injured in the accident and were admitted to other private hospitals after being referred from CHC. Meanwhile, Pathan Sevak, Saheb Sheikh, Farhan Sheikh, Nilesh Devre Balvinder Singh, Sandeep Patil, Jagannath Jadhav, Sahiba Khan, Gopal, Shruti Pal, and Suman Deshmukh, were injured in the accident.
