New Delhi: A utensil vendor identified as Suraj, 20, a resident of Raghubir Nagar has been arrested as the accused in the rape of a minor girl in Delhi’s Ranjit Nagar, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Central) Shweta Chauhan said on Sunday, 24 October.The accused had committed such crime earlier too & FIR is registered at Khayala Police station, she further added.As per the CCTV footage discoverd it is seen that he is seen trying to lure other children too but fails to pursue them.
Reportedly a team of 7-8 police officials had been deployed for investigating the case. Subsequently, a sketch of the accused was circulated which led to the nabbing of the criminal in Kalanaur Haryana.
A minor girl was raped on Saturday, 23 October, when she had gone to eat langar, a community kitchen that serves food to people of all faiths. While on her way back she was lured by the untensil vendor for a ten rupee note and is seen walking along with him in the CCTV footage. According to the information given by the girl’s family, she was bleeding when she came back home and was taken to the hospital, where doctors informed that she was raped.
