Navjot Singh Sidhu, the Punjab Congress chief, has written to party president Sonia Gandhi, requesting time to deliver to her a Punjab Model with a 13-point agenda to be included in the Congress Manifesto for the 2022 Assembly elections. “Punjab’s last chance for resurrection and redemption,” he said. ‘Priority areas that the Punjab government must deliver on,’ he wrote to Sonia Gandhi.

Sonia Gandhi reprimanded G23 leaders for reaching her through the media as Navjot Singh Sidhu made his remarks. The Congress president said she valued candor and that there was no need to contact her through the media during a working committee meeting on Saturday.

In his letter, Sidhu discussed the drug problem in Punjab, as well as justice in sacrilege cases, agriculture, electricity, Scheduled Caste and Backward Caste welfare, employment, and sand mining.

On Friday, Sidhu stated that his worries had been addressed and that he will continue to lead the state unit, according to Congress. On Thursday, Sidhu met with Rawat and party leader KC Venugopal to express his worries. Sidhu later stated that he had complete faith and confidence in the leadership of the party.

Earlier on Friday, Harish Rawat, the AICC general secretary in-charge of Punjab revealed that Sidhu had withdrawn his resignation and will remain in his position because the resignation issue has been resolved for the party. Later, the matter was resolved after Sidhu visited with former Congress President Rahul Gandhi at his home in New Delhi and expressed his worries.
