Madhya Pradesh: A truck collided with the vehicle of a couple coming from Vidisha to Bhopal to attend the funeral formalities of a relative residing in the Bagsevaniya area, Bhopal.
The incident is reported to have occurred at the Kalyanpur overbridge in the Sukhi Sewaniya area of Bhopal. The couple travelling on a two-wheeler was hit by a truck following which the woman died on the spot while the husband suffered minor injuries.
According to ASI Umesh Yadav, the woman, identified as Sumitra, lived in Indraprastha Colony, Vidisha, with her husband Khilan Singh (48) who is a teacher in a government school. On Friday morning, Khilan Singh and his wife Sumitra departed from Vidisha to Bhopal. At around 9.45 a.m., they arrived near the Kalyanpur overbridge when they were hit by a truck. Khilan managed to escape the critical accident while his wife succumbed after being crushed under the wheels of the heavy weight vehicle.
Reportedly, Sumitra’s brother Prahlad Singh was also following the duo to attend the funeral formalities. The incident was reported to police officials by Sumit. The probe about the incident is underway and further details are awaited.
