Raipur: CM Baghel departed to Durg from Raipur today at 11:55 am to attend the programs organized on the occasion of Vijaydashmi today. According to the itinerary released by officials, CM Baghel is scheduled to attend Ravan Dahan at Ravana Bhatta ground at  WRS colony at 6:45 pm. The colony installed a 51 feet Ravan Effigy for Ravan Dahan.

 He will also be accompanied by State Governor Anusiya Uikey. Following which he will go to do Kumhari, Charoda and Bhilai-03 later in the evening. Several MLAs and leaders are also scheduled to participate in the event.  State authorities have deployed nearly 400 police personnel for monitoring the crowd.

On the occasion of Durga Visarjan and Dusshera, the state administration deployed more than 1500 police personnel on roads on venues to keep untoward situations a bay. The security department has also engaged drone officials that would monitor the city the entire day. Nearly, 80 police patrolling vehicles have been deployed for patrolling in the city. SP Prashant Agarwal has instructed all officers on ground and in station to do stringent surveillance for two days.  Giving instructions about  Durga Visarjan,  he warned residents to avoid gathering as a crowd and follow the norms listed for the idol immersion.

Earlier on Thursday, Raipur Mayor Ejaz Dhebar, Corporation Commissioner Prabhat Malik inspected the arrangements and alerted all forces to keep updated.
