Sydney: Sydney will allow quarantine free entry for fully vaccinated travellers from November 1st. However, it has signified to permit entry to its citizens primarily against other nationals. This announcement came of Friday after South Wales state is expected to reach an 80 per cent dose vaccination rate on Saturday, outclassing all other regions of Australia. New South Wales Premier Dominic Perrottet said, “ We need to rejoin the world. We can’t live here in the hermit kingdom. We’ve got to open up.”
The Opera House land had sealed all its borders in March 2020 in response to the pandemic, permitting exclusive travel passes to its citizens and permanent residents who are currently required to undergo a self-sanctioned quarantine for two weeks. Speaking to local reports, PM Morrison Scott asserted to primarily focus on travel permits for Australian citizens. She said, “ the Commonwealth Govt has made no decision to allow other visa holders to come into Australia under these arrangements.”
Australia restricted international tours for more than 18 months now, as a result of which thousands of residents and citizens in other countries have been unable to return home. Canberra cited the arrival cap as a paramount move to slow the spread of COVID-19.
