Odisha: Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a Yellow alert with heavy rainfall very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Bhadrak, Kendrapara, Cuttack, Khorda, Puri, Jagatsinghpurup, during the next 12 hours in Odisha as the North coastal districts will witness light to heavy rainfall.
Umashankar Das, Senior Scientist, IMD, Odisha said that a cyclonic circulation has been formed. It is very likely to become more marked during the next 12 hours. The cyclonic circulation would move west-northwestwards towards the Odisha coast during next the 48 hours. Under its influence, a fresh spell of heavy rainfall is expected in Odisha from September 25th.
Due to the formation of low pressure over the Bay, Bhubaneswar MeT issued a heavy rainfall alert for several districts starting from today till September 29th. As per sources, today the weather forecast says light to moderate rain or thundershower is very likely to occur at a few places over the districts of Odisha. However, a thunderstorm with lightning is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar, Ganjam, Gajapati, Kandhamal, Rayagada, Koraput, Malkangiri, Puri, Khordha, Nayagarh, Cuttack and Sundargarh.
