West Bengal: Following the TMC’s claim that BJP candidate Priyanka Tibrewal violated the pandemic protocol, Priyanka’s election agent Sajal Ghosh filed a complaint with the returning officer against TMC candidate Mamata Banerjee for violating the protocol in Gurudwara on Thursday.
Mr Ghosh said in his letter to the Returning Officer for the assembly segment, “She visited the Bhabanipur Gurudwara with a huge number of people, flags and vehicles exceeding the rules and the regulations set by the Election Commission of India. Her supporters were seen flaunting the COVID rules by not wearing masks and using sanitiser. She visited the religious place and influenced and bribed the voters by giving offerings at the Gurudwara.”
Her supporters also violated Covid norms by not wearing masks and they did not use sanitiser, he claimed. The TMC called the allegations “baseless and politically motivated”.
