Qatar: The United Kingdom is in talks with the Taliban to create a safe passage for evacuation of British Nationals who remain there. These talks are being held in Doha, Qatar UK officials informed.

As per the data shared by the government, nearly 150-250 people are eligible for relocation along with their families in the war-torn country. Commenting on the UK Taliban talks, sources informed that the PM’s special representative Simon Gass has travelled to Doha and is meeting the Senior Taliban officials to underline the importance of safe passage out of Afghanistan for the British nationals and those Afghans that have worked for the UK over the past 20 years.

On Tuesday, Foreign Secretary Dominic Raab informed that more than 17,000 people were evacuated by the UK Govt from Afghanistan so far, including 5,000 UK Nationals.

In addition to the talks with the Taliban, the UK govt has decided to send 15 crisis response specialists to Pakistan, Uzbekistan and Tajikistan to assist British Diplomats in their works to allow people to reach the UK.

Taliban declared victory over Afghanistan following the withdrawal of US troops with fighters streaming into Kabul airport on Tuesday. British Troops left the country over the weekend.
